Invision deploys a first-of-its kind barrier-coupled Vehicle Occupancy Detection system

Invision AI today announced that it has successfully deployed Invision’s Vehicle Occupancy Detection (VOD) in a first-of-its kind configuration on a free-flow carpooling lane at the border between France and Switzerland near Geneva (Thônex Vallard border crossing).

The VOD system, installed in collaboration with our partner Ineo (part of the Equans group of company), is controlling a barrier that lets people with two or more occupant through. Vehicle with only one occupant must use the exit lane to go back to one of the two general purpose lane.

Watch this Youtube video demonstrating the system operating on the Autoroute et Tunnel du Mont-Blanc (ATMB) highway at the border between France and Switzerland near Geneva.
