Arash Mohtat received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Univ. of Tehran in 2007 and 2009; and, his Ph.D. from McGill University in 2014. From 2015 to early 2017, he was a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University working on multi-modal human-computer interfaces as well as a research project that spun off into Haply Robotics: a start up with the mission of democratizing haptics and robotics technologies. From 2017 to 2020, Arash was with the Canadian Technical Center of General Motors leading advanced technical projects related to health management of different actuation and perception systems. Arash has been with Invision AI since May 2020 as Technical Product Manager for vehicle occupancy detection solutions. As a researcher/engineer with entrepreneurial enthusiasm, he has over 25 peer-reviewed publications, tools, methods, trade secrets and pending US Patents. When not working, Arash can be found in the outdoors flowing against or alongside gravity, i.e. rock climbing or skiing!
